MPUMALANGA

PLACE WHERE THE SUN RISES

Mpumalanga meaning “place where the sun rises”, is home to the most famous of our National Parks, Kruger National Park. Kruger stretches 414km from top to bottom covering almost 2 million hectares and home to the largest concentration of Big 5 in the country. It is surrounded by many well-known private game reserves where the game roams freely between these reserves and Kruger creating an incredible game corridor and the ultimate wilderness experience.

But Mpumalanga is not just about game viewing…. As the Highveld drops down into the Lowveld region, it creates the most spectacular escarpment with incredible waterfalls, rock formations, inspiring views, twisting mountain passes, rivers and forests as it plunges down to the Kruger National Park below.

Dominated by the Blyde River Canyon – the world’s third-deepest gorge and the Sudwala Caves – the world’s oldest cave system the natural beauty of this region is captivating.

Adventure activities abound including white water rafting, elephant back safaris, zip lining, hot air ballooning, abseiling , cycling trails, trout fishing, horse riding and much more.
